Ten Years After Woodstock Setlist Live
Ten Years After was formed in Nottingham, England. The Band was known for its blend of Blues, Jazz, and Rock, which set them apart from many other Bands of the Era. Their performance at Woodstock is often credited with catapulting them to international fame. Alvin Lee's guitar work during their rendition of "I'm Going Home" was particularly memorable and showcased his fast-paced, energetic playing style.
The British Blues Rock Band led by Alvin Lee had released 2 Studio Albums (Ten Years After... Stonehenge) and a Live Record (Undead) when they took the Stage. a 3rd Album, Ssssh, was released a few weeks after their Woodstock appearance and became their first Top 10 U.S. hit.
"I'm Going Home" was undoubtedly the highlight of their Set. The nearly 10-minute performance, featuring Alvin Lee's blistering Guitar work, raised the level of Noise in the Crowd. Lee's lightning-fast guitar playing and energetic performance style were particularly noteworthy. His skills were on full display, especially during the extended solos.
Despite challenging conditions following the earlier rainstorm, the band's energy and musicianship left a lasting impression on the audience.
My Take: The Band was energetic and sometimes overblown and pretentious... but they are truly great Musicians. They played Tracks from Albums "Cricklewood Green," "A Space in Time," and "Ssssh," and me thinks they were a little overwhelmed and trying too hard to impress the Audience (who were very tired and worn out at this point). The Noise factor was from 4 to 8.
